Dr. Kristin Armstrong was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.
From a young age, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian and found herself in pet-related jobs from the moment she was old enough to work– as a kennel attendant at a veterinary hospital, a pet care associate at a pet store, a dog sitter, and eventually a veterinary assistant working for both a small animal general practice as well as a specialty hospital working overnight in the ICU.
In pursuit of her dream of becoming a veterinarian, she completed her undergraduate degree in animal science with a minor in chemistry at Tennessee State University in 2012. She then attended veterinary school at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine (MIZ, go Tigers!). Following vet school graduation in 2017, Dr. Armstrong furthered her training and completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Armstrong spent the last 4 years as the lead veterinarian for a small animal general practice in southern California.
The Armstrong family relocated to San Antonio in early 2025 in support of her husband's military service in the U.S. Army. Dr. Armstrong's medical interests include internal medicine, dentistry, oral surgery, urgent care medicine, and soft tissue surgery.
When not working, Dr. Armstrong enjoys spending time with her husband Zach, their daughter Millie, and their two basset hounds – Fred and Getty. In her little spare time, she enjoys traveling, professional and college sports, listening to music (especially country music), and is a self-proclaimed foodie.
